• What is One Fair Wage?

One Fair Wage is a national organization seeking to end all subminimum wages in the United States and increase the sustainability of wages and working conditions in the service sector. One Fair Wage policy would require all employers to pay the full minimum wage with fair, non-discriminatory tips on top, lifting millions of tipped and subminimum wage workers nationally out of poverty.

  • Elena the Essential

In partnership with One Billion Rising / V-Day Coalition and Artist Paul Leibow, we created Elena the Essential Service Worker, a 24 ft. art statue appearing in multiple cities. She is Elena the Essential Voter, Worker, and American demanding fair pay, respect, and fair elections.

THE NEW YORK TIMES RECENTLY EXPOSED THE EXPLOITATIVE AND PREDATORY PRACTICE OF THE NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION, WHICH REQUIRES RESTAURANT WORKERS TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN WORK SAFETY TRAINING. THIS EGREGIOUS PRACTICE FUNDS “THE OTHER NRA’S” LOBBYING EFFORTS AGAINST WORKERS.

One Fair Wage’s membership includes nearly 300,000 restaurant and service workers and nearly 3,000 restaurant employers, all seeking to raise wages and working conditions in the service sector and end all subminimum wages in the United States.

  • I was working as expediter and as a server at a restaurant that had just opened before Covid-19 began. With the closing, they started doing take out and then finally limited outdoor seating. I was asked to come back but felt very uncomfortable as an immunocompromised person. I’m lucky enough that my management understood, however I am one of the 40% of people who do not qualify for unemployment and I have been struggling to get by.

  • I am a bartender in Manhattan who discovered One Fair Wage during the initial lockdown due to COVID-19 in March of 2020. Since then, One Fair Wage has been the one beacon of hope I have had throughout this entire pandemic. As someone who has worked in the service industry for almost ten years, it is such a relief to know there is an organization like One Fair Wage fighting for the rights of restaurant workers across America.

  • Thank you. It’s been a financial struggle for some time, so you have no idea how much of a relief your generosity is to me. Thank You again One Fair Wage for your support.
